On a new build, the security wiring goes in during rough-in, before insulation and drywall, while every path is still easy. On a finished house most of it goes in wireless: DSC PowerG sensors that run on batteries lasting years, and when monitoring is through us we service those batteries when the time comes. Search "security system installation near me" and you get a hundred names; what you want is a company that plans the runs before it pulls them. An aging panel gets swapped for a current Alarm.com one, and a system some other company abandoned comes back under one app. The house doesn't need to be under construction. It needs a plan.

Does Alarm.com monitoring have a monthly fee?

Yes. Monitoring is a monthly cost, scaled to how many cameras and sensors the house runs, and every plan includes the cellular path that keeps response alive when your internet drops. We size it to the house at design time and put the exact monthly figure in the proposal, so you approve the ongoing cost with everything else.

Who can see my home security camera footage?

You, and only the people you grant. We don't watch your feeds and we don't resell footage. Recordings live on a drive in your own house or in the cloud, your choice, and either way the footage belongs to you, including the day you sell the house.

How does home access control work instead of house keys?

You issue codes instead of cutting metal. A code carries a schedule, so the contractor's expires Friday and the cleaner's works Tuesdays only, and you can revoke any of them from the app in seconds. Nothing to rekey when someone moves on, and every entry is logged.

Does a home security system still work if the internet goes down?
